Hello to all,
I'm using the DRV2605 chip in Audio to Vibe mode. Is there a way to know if the actuator, in my case an ERM, is running?
More precisely I want to know if the amount of audio signal is enough to start the vibe.

as far as I know, in such case, we don't have any way to know whether the actuator is working.

One of the challenges with Audio is that it has a crest factor. The real time audio has varying amplitude so its not feasible to know if the audio signal can start the ERM.

You can characterize it and know what amplitude causes the ERM to vibrate but in the real audio scenario you will have to adjust the minimum amplitude to ensure your ERM is running?

thanks for your replay.

You are right, I think I will characterize the signal to know the amplitude that cause the ERM to vibrate.

But I'm considering the possibility to add an accelerometer to my project, and using it to capture the vibration.

Do you think is it a suitable method?

Hello Clemente:

we also use the acclelerometer ADXL326BCPZ in our lab test to capture the acceleration waveforms.
