Booat DRV8711 Software

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8711

I have installed the Demo software for the Boost DRV8711 from the net. After a while I could start it with the GUI and run the motor.

I have checked out the 1/256 Microstep mode with "Start/Stop Step# Profile"

Start/Stop Speed : 65000

       Target Speed: 65000

# of Steps: 51200  ( which is 200*256)

Normaly I assume that the motor will make 1 turn, but if you repeat it, you will see not allways the same amount of steps. If you measure the time of the steps with the scope you will also see a difference.

Is this a problem of the DRV8711 or only oa problem with the Software?

Best regards,

Peter

  • Hi Peter,

DRV8711 will act just as the STEP command tells. There is much less possibility there is some wrong with the internal index, as this device is widely used in many customers. The reason could be the software or the motor.

For the software you can check with less STEP numbers and counting the numbers on the waveform.
For the motor, please try accelerating and decelerating to avoid too fast start/stop STEP frequency.

    Best regards,
