hi,

I want to ask a few questions. I have BLDC sensorless motor. Its specs are 890 rpm/V, 1380 watt peak power, 1080 watt max continuous power, no load current 1.2-1.7 A. Max continuous current 48 A. In my project I will use 15.6 Volt battery and I want to reach 700-800 watt power. Can you suggest which control method and driver IC is the best for this solution? thanks in advance for your help

Hi Zhao,

Do you know the application? BLDC gate drivers such as the DRV8301, DRV8302, DRV8303, DRV8305 plus an external mcu will work. Also the DRV8307, and DRV8308 with minimal mcu support could work.

I have tried UC2625 IC but I have understood later that it only works with sensored BLDC. but my motor is sensorless. Then, I found ICs that Rick has mentioned in his answer. But my principal question is that is there any solution for sensorless BLDC motor without using any mcu. Because I want that my design is as simple as possible. Thanks again.

Hi Savas,

The DRV8307 is the closest product available. It requires hall sensors to start, but can run sensorless. Please take a look at this.

You may still need a mcu to control direction or speed.
