DRV8312 disable function

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8312

I'm looking for a way to disable the power stages of the DRV8312 that does not involve the RESET pins.

Looking at the block diagram, the part monitors for undervoltage on the gate drivers and the VREG pin.

Overtemp can also trigger a shutdown as can overcurrent.

What would be the most elegant way of disabling the part? Are any of the reserved selections for the M1-3 pins doing this by any chance?

Alternatively could I drive the OC_ADJ pin high to fake an overcurrent event?

Thanks,

Klaus

  • Hi Klaus,

Is there a reason you cannot use the RESET pins? The RESET pins are by far the most elegant method.

After the motor has stopped, you can remove the GVDD voltage. This should work but timing could be an issue. There probably will be a delay as GVDD rises.
