RV3201-Q1 Influence of CFG1 setting for Boost and Gate Drive (A-50)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV3201-Q1

Hello,

Please answer question from customer.

DRV3201-Q1 boost voltage is used for external circuit and boost voltage should be stable while CFG1 setting up of ECU start up.

Please advise if write access to CFG1 register cause any influence to boost voltage and gate deriver behavior.

Best Regards.

  • Ushikubo-san,

Register CFG1 bits [5:0] will only affect the error pin and device behavior handling in CSM which does not impact BOOST voltage or gate driver output directly.

Bit [7] will have an impact if the device is trying to drive the gates (in the case IHSx = H or ILSx = H). Other than these cases, setting this register will not impact the BOOST voltage.

If Bit [6] is set to 1 at this time and the gates are able to be driven (no errors/DRVOFF = L), the gates will be powered due to PWM Mode.
