How to control current in DRV10983

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV10983

I am working on DRV10983 for ceiling fan application.

i have set IPD and i could see soft start of the motor. after some time Power supply current reaches to nearly 1Ampere and motor stops.

in speed command even if i input 1 also it runs at very high speed and turns off once reaches 1A.

pls advice on how to control this current

  • Hi Datta,

Our experts have been notified and should reply soon.
  • Hi Datta,

Phase current can be controlled by changing 'Acceleration current limit' parameter on GUI

Other things to look at is 'Phase Resistance' and 'Phase to  Phase Kt', please verify values of these parameters, and slight adjustment to these parameters can have an affect on current

Can you also Disable AVS by unchecking box 'Enable Inductive AVS' and "Enable Mechanical AVS' on Advanced setting page of GUI

Let me know how it goes and can you share phase current waveforms for analyzing problem
