DRV8801 VBB Spec'ed for 8-36v volt operation, but nFAULT requires 12v.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8801

DRV8801 VBB is spec'ed for 8-36v volt operation, but nFAULT requires 12v.  Given this spec, I choose this device to operate a pneumatic valve which requires 10 volts PWM.

The DRV8801 VBB range should be modified to reflect requirements for proper operation of nFAULT (VBB 13.8-36.0V), or make nFAULT work at 8volts.

  • Hi Richard,

Thank you for you comment. At this time, there is no plan to change the datasheet as you suggested.

The device continues to operate below 13.8V, but the nFAULT pin is asserted. The DRV8801 will continue to operate as long as VBB is > 7.5V.
