DRV10983 Based BLDC motor control

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV10983

Dear Sir,

We have DRV10983 EVM kit, Basically we are driving a 24V BLDC motor from it,

In had gone through Tuning  guide and set some flash parameters, my major issue is that, the motor can not rotate continuously,

Initially it started very smoothly and then motor current rises gradually up to max 1.5A and the motor stops,

And i have another .csv file in that there is no smooth start but after IPD detection it works very well.

Please share me any to resolve this problem

Thank you,

Regards,

Deepk D

  • Hi Deepk,

Our experts have been contacted and should reply soon.
  • Hi Deepak,

For the first issue, can you please check on 'Display' page of GUI which 'Fault Code' is getting activated when motor stops. Each fault code corresponds to one of the lock shown on 'Advanced setting' page of GUI

If you see fault 0 (overcurent fault), then increase 'Lock Detection Current Threshold' on advanced setting page, decrease 'Acceleration current limit' on 'Basic Setting' page and fine tune motor resistance and motor kt

As far as starting motor with IPD is concerned, it should have smoother start compared to align and go method,

I would recommend you to refer user guide for IPD
