Hello Sir/Maam,

please suggest a suitable driver for below mentioned bipolar stepper motor

Model No: BH42 SH 47 - 1704 AF BIPOLAR 4.4 kg cm (0.44 Nm).

Current/Phase:1.7A

Voltage :12-24 V

Application:

Require 8 Stepper motor in one stack to run simultaneously and in synchronization through ATMEGA32 Micro controller

i used only 4 pins to drive 8 stepper motor input pulse from atmega32,is it right way to handle my requirement ?if no please give better solution.

Hi Vaibhav,

The DRV8880 is a good choice. You will need one per stepper motor.

DRV8880 is new in market ,so complete driver board not available yet and DRV8825 Driver module is easily available in market.so is it DRV8825 is ok for my application?

Hi Vaibhav,

Yes, the DRV8825 will also work. Some experimentation may be required to set the decay mode. That is why the DRV8880 with AutoTune was recommended.
