We are evaluating the TI's solenoid drivers to drive a Solenoid Valve (water pipe's) power ratings 12V & 500mA. We are interested in solenoid driver's with integrated MOSFET and although DRV103 suits our requirement, we are not quite sure if DRV103 can operate effectively at 500mA. The recommended Typical Output Current for DRV103 is 1.5A. Could someone please suggest if DRV103 can be used for output currents less than 1A and down to 500mA? Any other product suggestions also welcome. The minimum Output Current ratings for DRV103 are missing in the Datasheet.
We negated DRV102 & 101 because of higher IC costs and we do not need such high current ratings. DRV120 has a Peak Current value of 150mA and much less than our requirement 500mA.
