TPL7407L - Absoulte Maximum Rating of Continuous drain current per channel(Ids)

Hi all

Would you mind if we ask TPL7407?
We are sorry to keep pestering you.

<Question>
About Absoulte Maximum Rating of Continuous drain current per channel(Ids), does it means that it allows to flow on transient per channels?

Kind regards,

Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hello Matsumoto-san,

The absolute maximum continuous current can be up to 600mA, so if transients are less than this, then you should be alright.
The device can handle larger transients than this continuous current specification, but we do not specify the exact number. Are there particular known transients that you are concerned with?

    Best,
    Michael

    Thank you for your reply!
    OK, we got it.

We would like to confirm one point.
P3 Absolute Maximum Rating Continuous drain current per channel : 600mA
    P4 Recommended Operating Conditions Continuous  : 500mA

Why is there difference about drain current?

    Kind regards,

    Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Matsumoto-san,

500mA is the range that we recommend the device be operated at. Operating beyond this point may cause more rapid degradation of the device.
600mA is the absolute maximum, so if this specification is exceeded then the device is not guaranteed to operate and could cause permanent damage to the device.

    Best,
    Michael
