It appears there is a missing Table 2 on page 17 of the DRV10970 Datasheet. There is a label for Table 2 Trapezoidal Commutation With 0° Hall Placement but no table follows. Is that table available?

I have a question on the table - I expected that the difference between forward and reverse directions of the motor, for a given hall sensor input, would simply be that the High and Low levels would swap on the driven windings, with the Hi-Z winding would stay the same. The table below does not show that. Is that table correct for both directions?

Hi Blake,

Yes table is correct. The approach mentioned by you is one way to doing it, but DRV10970 follows the sequence mentioned in table for commutation. We have verified it on bench and there seems to be no problem in spinning motor in either direction

Unfortunately I have verified the part does appear to behave per the tables by looking at the phase of the current in the winding versus the Hall signals. But it does seem like a bug in the part. The Table for the zero degree case with FR=1 is identical to the table for the 30 degree case. That simply should not be the case. For FR=0 the 0 degree table it is shifted by 30 degrees for the 30 dgree table as expected. I do not believe this is a proper method to achieve the best efficiency and torque for a motor with zero degree hall placement ans must be a bug in the part, although the motor may still spin perhaps.

Note with FR=1 the phase of the the U phase current with respect to teh hall signals does not change with the communtation mode switched from 0 to 30. It does change when FR=0, as one would expect.
