DRV8830 / how to use fault low signal

Hi all.

I would like to know about fault function.

my customer uses this device in the following, 

・The motor load(current) enlarge when motor spins constant amount.
・Then the fault pin becomes Low, because the load current enlarge.
・my customer would like to detect the rotational position of motor by the fault pin low signal.

So my customer uses a lot of fault signal .
Is this how to use this device OK?

    What does detect the rotational position mean? (stall, absolute position, something else)

    The fault signal indicates an unexpected event in the system. Once the fault signal asserts, the fault register can be read to determine the fault. A stall would typically be indicated by the ILIMIT bit.

    The ILIMIT bit can be used to determine end of travel.
