It seems the stability of the output is related to the dv/dt of the drain-source voltage on the FET. Using registers5 and 6 to set the current levels higher, there is significant ringing on the output of the driver, mainly during the charging of the Miller capacitance during turn-ON.
Tried putting a series resistance (up to 10-ohms) between the driver output and the FET gate; it does not seem to make much difference.
Slowing the switching time, it becomes more stable. The smallest current levels are stable but the switching time is so slow it is not practical.
How can we achieve high-current and relatively fast switching times without the ringing?
