DRV2605EVM-BT sample code doesn't compile

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV2605, DRV2605EVM-CT

We're developing a new product that will use the DRV2605.

We've been using the DRV2605EVM-CT demo board for initial tests and now we were planning on using the DRV2605EVM-BT demo board mounted on a wrist strap for field testing.
However, we have run into a problem. TI seems to have orphaned the -BT demo board and perhaps also the chips on it.

The -BT board comes with code and with an iPhone app. The app doesn't work, the code won't compile and it appears that TI hasn't published a fix since they were made aware of the problem months ago!

If the DRV2605EVM-BT is no longer supported we will have to lay out a circuit board in order to go forward as the -CT demo board is too large for field testing.
Has TI indeed dropped support for the -BT board? It's not an old board and there are still units in distribution!

Also, and at this point more import: Will TI support the -CT board and the critical chips on it (MSP430G2x53/MSP430G2x13 and DRV2605) ?

  • Hi Erik,

We are aware of the problem and are currently working to get new software out to the web. I apologize for the slow support on this issue, but we will get back to you shortly with an update.
We fully support the DRV2605EVM-CT board.

  • Thanks Kelly.

I'm happy to hear that the DRV2605EVM-CT board will continue to be supported but right now we're dealing with the -BT board.
George S, who is part of this project, was able to get the code to compile using the older version of the BLE (1.4.0). See thread "DRV2605EVM-BT compiling error".

We have debugger hardware coming for Monday so we can see if we can download the existing code.
I'm looking forward to seeing the updated code from you.
