Haptic touchscreens with piezo-sealing problem?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV2667

Hello,

I've studied the TI solution where rubber grommets are used to isolate the front plate from the whole device for getting a haptic touch effect using piezoelectric actuators.

Shortly, the metal carrier frame (yellow) is attached to the metal bracket (dark green) with screws and grommets between. Then the green plastic screen frame is attached to the bracket and the screen is adhered to the plastic frame. This configuration leaves space behind the display! Dust problems can occur and I wanted to ask if someone knows which sealing elements would be the best solution, which material to choose, which shape and method of integration etc.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Regards, Zorica

  • Hi Zorica,

This reference design is to show how to get strong haptic effects with a piezo actuator. We are happy to support any questions related to the electrical components or DRV2667 driver; however, we do not have any solutions for the above questions.
