UC3517 part replacement

UC3517 is the TI part, we are looking for the replacement,

Since we are changing he schematics we may the freedom to change the layout and schematics..

We have to interface 2 types of motors at the output. One working at 5V and another at 24V. The selection will be made at the user end with jumper.

Can you please help me suggest some part for this stepper motor driver

Hi Shreenidhi,

How much current is required?

The DRV8804 will work as shown as long as the VM voltage is above 8.2V. Other options are the DRV777, DRV8803, DRV8805.

Have you considered configuring the stepper motor as a bipolar stepper? This will allow use of the bipolar stepper motor drivers such as the DRV8834 or DRV8846 for low voltage, or the DRV8880 or DRV8885 for higher voltages.

Drive current required shall be less than 300mA per phase

As you can see in the diagram i have sent above the Vm is always greater than 8.2V . In fact it is always at 24V
Can this be acceptable solution, Please have a look at the diagram above for DRV8804

Customer is looking for Unipolar suggestions

Basically he want to connect either a 5V or 24V motor
However the system will have 24V present in both cases to power up the Vm pin

Hi Shreenidhi,

The DRV8804 can work as shown. There is overcurrent and short protection in this device, but there is no current regulation.
