hello,

Iam working on DRV8301.When i use OCP current limit mode with motor than device turn off the mosfets but without motor output come on the mosfets.Is switching speed of the MOSFETs is creating the problem??Iam using IRFP260n MOSFETs.

In OCP current limit mode ,how much time does the device take to start Vds sensing after enabling the mosfets??

Hi Shashank,

Sorry for the delay. There are two parts to the sensing.

The first is blanking, which is a minimum of 200ns.

The second is deglitch, which is a minimum of 400ns.

After the blanking time, if the Vds is greater than the value set the OCP current limit can assert.

Hi Shashank,

The deglitch time is time the Vds limit is exceeded prior to signaling a fault condition.

An OCP event can occur at any time the output is enabled.

If the Vds threshold is exceeded for a minimum of 400ns any time after the 200ns blanking time, the OCP current limit may assert.

The DRV8301 boster pack use CSD18533Q5A mosfets.These mosfets have gate charge of 29nC and turn ON and turn OFF of approx. 5ns.
Are these the recommended specification of the mosfets to use with DRV8301??

Hi Shashank,

You can use many different FETs with the DRV8301. The CSD18533Q5A are used on the booster pack because they fit the design parameters of the system (24V, 14A peak).

TI should mention the blanking time and deglitch in the datasheet of the DRV8301.
