To control DRV8701EVM through UART of MSP430 on the board by external MCU

Hi,

In our evaluation with DRV8701EVM, the board is controlled by GUI on PC through USB interface. I'd like to send same commands in GUI through UART of MSP430 on the board from external MCU.

Could you tell me the UART packet patterns for each command on GUI?

Hi Bohdan,

The commands are not documented. All of the transactions are handled behind the scenes through GUI Composer and the mcu.

There are two pieces to the communication. The UART communication is handled by mcu firmware. GUI Composer Runtime handles the USB communication. The USB to UART device handles the protocol conversion.

The basic transaction is a USB to UART read or write to memory locations that are interpreted into actions by the mcu. GUI Composer uses a memory map to know which locations to read or write.
