DRV10983 Motor Velocity Constant

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV10983

Hi,

Could you tell me the following question, please?

Q1: What is Motor Velocity Constant?
Does this mean "back-emf constant"? the same mean?

Q2: If it is the same mean above, Could you let me know conversion equation from "back-emf constant[[Vs/rad]" to "Motor Velocity Constant[mV/Hz]"?

Bestregards,
Shimizu

  • Hi Shimizu-san,

Our experts have been notified and should reply soon.
  • Hi Shimizu-san,

Motor Velocity Constant and back-emf constant are same, its just different nomenclature followed around the world.

DRV10983 expects back-emf constant to be 0-peak and in mV/Hz, So conversion depends on the value provided for back-emf constant. Value of back-emf constant can be RMS, peak to peak or 0-peak.

In general, conversion of speed from rad/sec to Hz is 1/2pi -> 0.1591549 Hz
