CCS/DRV8871: What's the difference between DRV8871 and DRV8872?

Part Number: DRV8871
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8872,

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

What's the difference between DRV8871 and DRV8872?

And this reference of DRV8872:

DRV8872DDARQ1

DRV8872DDAR

  • Hello Vincent,

The DRV8871 has internal current sense.

The DRV8872 has current sense externally through the Rsense resistor.

The DRV8872 has a fault reporting pin. the DRV8871 does not.

The  DRV8872DDARQ1 is  automotive qualified part of the DRV8872DDAR. In general, having the Q1 at the end means the part is automotive qualified.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks.
