DRV8814: Problem with Reset Pin of DRV8814

Part Number: DRV8814

Hi,

I am using drv8814 for my custom board. In order to reset motor driver independent of rest of the board I have connected Reset pin of DRV8814 (Pin 16 - nRESET) to reset switch with 100k pullup and 100nf capacitor between ground and Reset Pin. Below is schematic of circuit. Here mReset is connected with pin 16 of DRV8814. My problem is reset pin is showing 1.6 V instead of 3.3V and motor driver does not start. If i connect 3.3V directly to reset pin then it works perfectly. I have checked capacitor and resistor values and there is no issue in assembly. I cant figure out what is problem here.

  • Hi Bluto,

The nRESET pin has an internal pulldown that is typically 100k. It is noted in the electrical characteristics (IIH of the logic level inputs) The pulldown could be as low as 33k.

Please use a maximum 10k pullup resistor in your circuit.
