DRV8301: Making H-Bridges for running DC motors

Hello All,

I'd like to have two H-Bridges to run two brushless DC motors. Has anybody experiences working with "DRV8301-69M-KIT"? I need to have H-Bridges with continuous current of 20A and peak current of 40A for 5 sec. 

Can I use TMDSDOCK28379D controlCARD to run the kit?

    Hello Kash,

    The DRV8301-69M-KIT features the DRV8301 which provides 3 half-bridge drivers for three phase motor drive applications. What are your motor specs? The DRV8301-69M-KIT is rated to run up to 40A continuous current and tailored for three phase brushless motors. In the case your motors are three phase BLDCs you would need two devices to drive them. Thank you.

    I have two 12V DC motor. the current H-Bridges I'm using provides 22A continuous and 40A peak for 5 sec. They are not three phases.

    Hi Kash,

    Assuming you have single phase motors, you could use the DRV8301-69M-KIT and use the high side FETs to drive them. Please also note the Power up sequencing requirement in section 8.1.1 of the DRV8301 datasheet. I hope this helps. Thank you very much.

    I'm new to this topic so I have some more questions:

    1. Can I use one DRV8301-69M-KIT to run one electric motor? since it has 3 half-bridge I think it is possible to use two half bridge and run a single phase DC motor. please correct me if I'm wrong.

    2. Can I purchase the device without the "Piccolo Isolated F28069M controlCARD"? I have my own F28379D controlCARD and would like to know if I can use mine. if so, can I flash it with the required firmware?

    3. I couldn't find the schematic of DRV8301-69M-KIT. Can you please let me know where it's in ControlSUITE?
