Hi Team,

The customer would like to use DRV8823.

Q1: For the DRV8823, If the SPI bus is used to send the step commands, the main frequency of SPI is needed to increase at least 16 times

at the same single speed. Is this understanding correct?

Q2: DRV8823 does not have the single step function pin. Do we have the single step function pin driving motor IC for the stepper motor?

Hi Mickey,

For question 1: I apologize for not understanding your question correctly. What do you mean by 16 times at the same single speed? what single speed are you referring to?
For question 2: you can take a look at the DRV8821 which has a simple step/direction interface.

Thanks. For the DRV8821, the table 1 of the datasheet show it cannot achieve the single step function. Is my understanding correct?

Table 1 of the DRV8821 datasheet shows the different stepping configurations; full, half, 1/4, or 1/8 micro stepping. What exactly are you trying to achieve the single step function? Could you please kindly provide more info for better support. I apologize for the back and forth, thank you very much.
