Hi,

I would like to know more about the mixed decay scheme in H-Bridges for Stepper motors.

What will be the formula to decide the percentage of fast decay in the mixed decay scheme?

Hi Janani,

The formula depends on many factors, such as the system voltage and the motor inductance. Some of our newer stepper motor controllers are using AutoTune, which automatically adjusts the decay.

The DRV8880 and DRV8886AT use similar algorithms.
