DRV8837: back-electromotive force during controling the motor

Dear Technical Support Team,

 

Does DRV8837 need external circuit to take measure for back-electromotive force during controlling the motor?

I think that FET body diode configuring H bridge affects for back-electromotive force, so external circuit is not need.

    Hi ttd,

    The DRV8837 does not need external circuitry for normal operation.

    Additional circuitry may be required if VM exceeds the absolute maximum rating. Examples of additional circuitry are larger capacitance or a TVS clamp.
