DRV8701: drv8701

Part Number: DRV8701
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8704, DRV8320

Hi

I want to control a 50v/4A DC brush motor use drv8701。Can I use two separate surplys one is 15v for drv8701 and another is 50v DC for motor?

Best Regards,

  • Hi Xufeihx,

No, this cannot be done. You need approximately 60V to turn on the high side FETs. The charge pump of the DRV8701 provides this voltage.

You need a 60V gate driver. There are a few options available such as:
    DRV8704
    DRV8320H and DRV8320

Even with a 60V gate driver, care should be taken to avoid violating the absolute maximum voltages.
