DRV2667: DRV2667, maximum current for BST

Part Number: DRV2667
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8662, DRV2700

Hello,

I intend to use DRV2667 in different applications and have general questions about DRV2667.

1. I would like to turn on boost voltage (BST) permanently and use it as a bias supply for another consumer, is that possible?

2. What is the maximum current of BST output?

3. In another application I have to set a fixed output voltage at OUT+/-, like DC, is that possible? In this way I try to keep a certain mechanical position of my load.

I hope you can answer my questions, I would appreciate it very much.

Best Regards

Vitali

  • Hi Vitali,

    1. Do you need the digital portion of the DRV2667? If not, you may consider the DRV8662 or DRV2700. The DRV8662 is the boost converter and analog amplifier used in the DRV2667. The DRV2667 has a digital chip (including the waveform synthesizer and RAM memory) stacked on top of the DRV8662. The DRV2700 is an industrial version of the DRV8662 to withstand higher temperature ratings.
    2. The max current is ~9mA. You can see this in Figure 4 of the DRV2700 datasheet.
    3. Yes, it is ok to set a fixed DC output.
  • Hello Kelly,

    many thanks for that.
