DRV2603EVM-CT: Evaluation kit not entering in additional hardware modes

Part Number: DRV2603EVM-CT

Hello,

I have a DRV2603EVK-CT RevC on my hands, checking the manual it looks like after holding the finger over the + cap sensor for 3 secs will enter in the additional hardware modes, but mine is not entering, I don't see any LED blink nor the actuators vibrate to indicate the change in mode. There is anything missing? I tried holding the finger for over 1 minute, switching (or removing) some of the jumpers but it is not working. Can you please help me? I just want to connect external actuators and provide my signals to PWM (I know we can deactivate PWM just by removing the jumper 1, but I need to provide EN signals as well, so I would like to enable the Hi-Z on those pins), and EN.

Thanks a lot.

  • Hey there,

I ll have to check this one, will get back to you as soon as possible.

    Best regards,

  • Hey,

I checked one of the EVMs we have here, and everything was working properly, I just held plus button for 3 seconds and the board entered binary mode. I had left two jumpers on USB, jumpers JP1, JP2, JP3 and JP4 shorted and I2C open.

Check the jumper setting, and then try again. If it does not work, then you can try updating the firmware (instructions can be found in the user guide). If those two do not work, then it is probably a failure on the board.

Does the board work normally when you plug it and play it (apart from that mode change)?

    Best regards,
    Marko
