DRV10983: Use with 2-pole (i.e. 1 pole pair) BLDC motors

Dear TI,

I cannot seem to find reference on the DRV10983 datasheet to its use with 2-pole (i.e. 1 pole pair) motors. I know that in theory there should not be any issues, but I would just like to confirm that the driver can indeed be used with this type of motor before I include it in my design.

Hi Gerhard,

You are right, DRV10983 can drive 3 phase BLDC motors irrespective of pole pairs. BLDC is electrically commuted by DRV10983, so pole pairs doesn't matter here.
