DRV8701: DRV8701 SO pin

Dear all

The allowable SO pin capacitance is 1nF in datasheet. If put 2.2uF on SO pin, does there have any side effect for DRV8701?

Hi, Team

To have a slower SO response time to match MCU sampling rate, customer intends to connect up to 2.2uF capacitor to SO pin.

Will that lead to any damage or fault protection to DRV8701?

Hi Jimmy and Alvin,

We recommend to follow datasheet recommendation of 1nF. if cap is changed to 2.2uF it can create stability issue with the CSA.
If capacitor must increase, please add a resistor to create an RC constant. Keep in mind that doing this will have an effect on the current regulation block. Thank you.
