DRV8313: Reserved pin 18 of RHH Package

I have Pin18 of the DRV8313 connected to ground - this pin was ground up till 2015 and is now reserved - i appear to be pulling current as son as Vm is 1V - is this expected or do i have another issue ?

Pin 18 shows as RSVD for the RHH package. I will look into this and get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you.

Ian,

The datasheet has a revision where it changed pin 18 connection of the VQFN (RHH) package from GND to RSVD. This was due to a post similar to your thread here: e2e.ti.com/.../1839921 pin 18#1839921

So to answer your question, this pin should be left unconnected and not be tied to ground. Thank you.

Yes i realize that now - but question is what behavior should i expect to see id pin 18 is connected to ground ? ie will it cause high current to flow in device ?

Ian,
When Powering up there is an internal FET that briefly turns on. The amount of current will depend on VM supplied. It is recommended to not connect this pin to GND.
