DRV8308: What is the jitter on speeds when running on CLKIN?I need to drive a 3 phase brusless DC motor of 100W at 12000RPM, an need to be able to phase lock it with second motor with a tolerance of /- 5 degrees. I've read in the datasheet of the DRV

Part Number: DRV8308
I need to drive a 3 phase brusless DC motor of 100W at 12000RPM at constant load and need to be able to phase lock it with second motor with a tolerance of /- 5 degrees. I've read in the datasheet of the DRV8308 that it is able to match the speed to a reference frequency on the CLKIN pin, but I can not find the accuracy of the speed nor phase error. Are there any other parts or refence designs you can advise? Thanks and best regards,
  • Hi Ade,

When properly tuned, the DRV8308 can drive motors with < 0.1% cycle jitter and fast torque compensation for varying loads. The duty cycle speed modes operate in open-loop without speed control.

Please see the tuning guide for additional information www.ti.com/.../slvua41

Other devices require additional external logic to control and motor the motor speed.
