BOOSTXL-DRV8323RS: NMOSFET replacement problem

How are trying to replace the NEXFETs? Are you wiring to another board with the replacement FETs?

The replacement FET were on a separate board with wires connecting to the pads on the evaluation board.  I actually placed the original NEXFET back and it did the same thing. 

So there is a possibility that either the original NEXFET is damaged or both NEXTFET and replacement FET are damaged or the evaluation board is damaged.

The more important question is: d you think the Infineon FET "BSC520N15NS3" will work with DRV8323RS?

Hi David,

The Infineon FETs should work with the DRV8323RS. There are a few differences between the FETs (Qg and Vgs(th) for example) but nothing that should cause a problem.

Depending on how you are connecting the FETs from the eval board, there could be some additional ringing that may cause faults.

The board might have been damaged from removing the NEXFET??

It is possible. Perhaps there is solder bridges that were left on the board also.

We investigated possible solder bridge already and didn't find anything. It might be an internal short.

I just wonder if there are ways to unsolder NEXFET without causing damages??
