DRV8825: For the questions of the DRV8825 datasheet

Part Number: DRV8825

Hi team,

The customer has some questions for DRV8825 as below:

Q1: There are three modes for Decay Modes. The customer would like to know when the motor will enter Decay Mode?

in each STEP cycle? Or During the motor brake ? Or During the motor commutation?

Q2: For the Equation 1 on page 12 of the datasheet, is the ICHOP current the peak output  current of the motor?

Q3: For the Blanking Time, the 8.3.4 Blanking Time of the datasheet shows"the blanking time also sets the minimum on time of the PWM".

So, when the customer sets the STEP signal period, does he need to refer to Blanking Time to set the STEP signal period?

The motor enters decay mode when the current level reaches the chopping level set by equation 1. The percentage of current is modified between 0 and 100% by table 2.

    The current is peak.

The customer does not need to refer to the Blanking Time to set the STEP signal period. The blanking time is controlled internally.
