Solenoid driver DRV102 cannot activate steady state

I want to use the DRV102 to drive a 24V 10Watt solenoid.

I can get a PWM output.

I tried grounding pin 2 of the device, it still produces a PWM.

Pin one operates as expected....   5v allows the device to operate and zero volts shuts the device output off.

  • Your short descriptions looks okay. Have you tried more than one device? (We don't want to spend time troubleshoot a possibly damaged unit.) Also, if you could, please provide a schematic of your circuit. Have you deviated from the circuit shown in Figure 1 in any way?... D1 and D2 installed, etc?

    Regards, B.

  • Thank you for responding Bruce....

I see that you posted on Sept 30th.

Strangely enough, I just was notified of the post today, October 31.    I have no idea why the delay occurred.

I have gotten the driver to work.  I am puzzled by it's behaviour.  It works well enough for what I am doing.

I may revisit this issue later.
