The specs seem identical, so whats the main difference ?

Whats the point in having two distinct devices ?

Should one be preferred for new designs ?

    Hi Frederic,
    The main difference from these two devices is with the H-Bridge Logic. Other than that you are correct, they are identical.
    Please look closely to both bridge control sections in the datasheets to decide which one you want to use.
    The DRV8841 supports coast via pulling the decay or I0/I1 pins high.
    The DRV8843 supports coast vial the IN1/IN2 pins.
