DRV8308EVM: DRV8308EVM

Part Number: DRV8308EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8308

HI

I'm using the DRV 8308evm with the TelcoMotion DT4260-24-055-04H-TI BLDC motor which came with the kit.

At first we had troubles enabling the motor using the driver's GUI but by following this post https://e2e.ti.com/support/applications/motor_drivers/f/38/t/456155#pi239031350=2

instructions, we now got it to work.

Now we trying to use the close loop features of the driver but things are not operating as exsepted.

I followed the SLVUA41E DRV8308 User’s Guide, page 9-12 and i'm using an oscilloscope to see the FGOUT in order to examine the locked speed.

After completing steps 1 and 2, i tried a differant frequncies on the Fclkin but no matter what i insert (200,300,400) the frequncy on the FGOUT did not exceed 130 HZ (while the clkin pin did show the proper frequncy value at each time).

I tried to increase LOOPGAIN, I  set the speed to 4000 and nothing happened.

Another strange thing i noticed is that the advance option did not affect the current consption at all (either advance=0 or advance=255) the Current consption was the same.

Its like i not having a feedback and the speed isnt locked.

Even when i load it  with my fingers (as the guide suggested me to do), the current barely inreases and the speed isnt at its initial value (not locked).

Please advice me what to do.

BR
