DRV10983EVM: the phase to phase of BLDC motor

Now I want to measure the phase to phase voltage Ep of the motor.

So I use the oscilloscope voltage probe to directly measure the voltage between phase U and phase W.

But, the motor stop right away.

Are there problems with this measurement?

I don't know much about the motor.Can you recommend books of  the BLDC.

    If the motor is being driven by DRV10983 you can not measure the BEMF of the motor (Ep). This effectively shorts the 2 phases together and will cause the motor to stop.

    You can place a probe on one of the phases to ground and then disconnect the power supply. This will allow you to measure the BEMF of a phase (for example Eu).
