DRV2700EVM-HV500: I have problems with AC mode.

Part Number: DRV2700EVM-HV500

Hello. My name is Kang Yong Lee.

I am a graduate student in Myongji University, South Korea.

I want to use well the 'DRV2700EVM-HV500' for control a voltage for my research.

When I use the kit with EVM control software downloaded by TI homepage, an output voltage with DC mode was controlled well.

but a magnitude of the output voltage with AC mode was not controlled and a signal of the voltage was appeared like under figure.

(A frequency and duty cycle of the voltage was controlled well.)

Please help me to control the magnitude of the output voltage with AC mode.

Thank you for reading.

  • Hi Kang Yong Lee,

    Welcome to e2e.
As explained in the DRV2700-HV500 user's guide section 3 and section 5, the AC mode set a low PWM frequency (below 1kHz), in this case the output will try to be a square wave following the input PWM signal. So the frequency an duty cycle are controlled and directly reflected at the output. The magnitude would be the RMS value of the output signal.
In the case of the DC mode the PWM is set to a high PWM frequency (higher than 20kHz), in this case the input filter makes the PWM looks like DC.
