DRV8412: MCU to DRV8412 Connection

I am interested to use DRV8412 stepper drive using ATmega328P or ATmega2560 MCU. The diagram on Figure 10 uses a different MCU and the connection with DRV8412 has additional wiring like RESET, OTW and a few more.

How can I use the DRV8412 driver with AtmeL MCU? How Can rewire Figure 10?

Hi Wehibe,

The DRV8412 can be connected to any device with the ability to drive the inputs as shown. The connections to the DRV8412 would be the same.

Thanks for your response. I need also clarification about the PVDD power 0-50V input range.

I am planning to integrate an MCU and the DRV8412 on a PCB but isolated ground. I don't expect to have two power source on single box/chassis. If I use 12Volt AC/DC Adapter just like regular laptop power plug rated for the a amperage required or 12VDC Rechargeable batteries pack, like DC12V 9800mAh Super Rechargeable Portable Li-ion Battery US Plug Battery Pack BP

Could I able use it either option? Please help me understand the PVDD power requirement. Basically I am checking if I can use 12VDC and connect to DRV8412 VDD and PVDD pins and get the same current delivered to the stepper motor?

Hi Wehibe,

GVDD and VDD cannot exceed 13.2V.

The PVDD voltage depends on the application. PVDD can be any voltage up to 52.5V.
