DRV8812: Absolute maximum ratings of xOUT pin

Part Number: DRV8812

Hi,

Could you let me know the Absolute maximum ratings of xOUT pin, please?
I want to know both value of Min and Max.

My customer has a issue of breaking B phase output pins.

Best reagrds,
Shimizu

  • Shimizu-san,

The continuous current out of the xOUT pins should be less than 1.6 A, but the device should shut down for any overcurrent or overtemperature conditions. When either of these faults happen, the nFAULT pin will pull low, and the xOUT pins will be high-impedance. This should be sufficient to protect the driver from these conditions.

The voltage on the xOUT pins should not go much higher than 1 V above the VM voltage for significant periods of time. Sometimes back EMF or transient conditions, such as a noisy environment, may cause this. Back EMF can be an issue if the motor turns while the IC is not powered.
