DRV8301: SPI communication

Part Number: DRV8301

Hi all

Would you mind if we ask DRV8301?

<Question1>
Is it possible to communicate using SPI(Read and Write) with follow condition?
Condition : PVDD1=OFF(0V), VDD_SPV=ON(+5V), EN_GATE=High

<Question2>
After writing resister using follow CondtionA, Power condition changes from ConditionA to ConditionB.
In this case, does DRV8301 keep register data which are wrote with ConditionA?
ConditionA : PVDD1=ON(+24V), VDD_SPV=ON(+5V), EN_GATE=High
ConditionB : PVDD1=OFF(0V), VDD_SPV=ON(+5V), EN_GATE=High

Kind regards,

Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hi Matsumoto-san,

    As the device is powered up and down, PVDD_UV will assert, causing the registers to reset.

    Please refer to section 7.3.4.2 of the datasheet:

    When the device is in PVDD_UV it will not respond to SPI commands and the SPI registers will revert to their default settings.
