Respected Sir/Madam,

Is it safe to drive a BLDC motor with following specifications using the DRV8301 Booster pack (BOOSTXL-DRV8301) and C2000 F28069M piccolo launchpad (LAUNCHXL-F28069M)

PEAK CURRENT : 18A

RATED CURRENT : 10A

VOLTAGE : 24V

The BOOSTXL-DRV8301L User Guide specifies peak current at 14 A. If you can limit the 18-A draw, then you should be fine. Operating at 24-V and 10-A RMS conditions are also fine.

Thank you for the quick reply. I will limit the 18A peak current by carefully selecting the load and slowly increasing the RPM of the motor.
