DRV2624: DRV2624 Haptic driver for Windows 10

Part Number: DRV2624
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: , , USB2ANY

Hi,

I'm trying to evaluate the DRV2624 haptics controller, running on Windows 10 OS.

I tried using DRV2624EVM-CT kit but looks like this is not supported on Windows 10 so will be returning this one.

Also trying to use the DRV2624EVM-MINI with the USB2ANY adapter, but still haven't been able to use it at all.

Can you please advise what is the fastest way to evaluate this chip If running windows 10.?

Ive tried flashing the USB2ANY with the latest firmware as well as version 2.6.1.0, but none of them works with the haptics control GUI. Does the Haptics control GUI work with DRV2624 on windows 10? if not which version of windows does it work with and how come you guys haven't updated this software to work with windows 10 yet? since windows 10 has been out for quite a long time now?

Labi.

  • Hi Labi,

Very sorry about the inconvenience, but Haptic Control Console is not yet supported on most Windows 10 computers. It is supported on Windows 7. Since the issue is with the software, using the USB2ANY versus the DRV2624EVM-CT will not make a difference. Many features can be tested using the different modes integrated in the DRV2624EVM-CT firmware. I hope you are able to find a Windows 7 system for testing. We will make an announcement once a solution if found for using the software in Windows 10.
  • Hi Labi,

Could you verify the Kelly's answer?
This could help other customers that have the same issue

  • I was eventually able to communicate with the DRV2624EVM-MINI with the USB2ANY adapter on my windows 10 setup. Here are the specific steps I followed:

    1) Flash the USB2ANY adapter with firmware DRV-USBCOM-EVM_v1p4
    2) Power the DRV2624EVM_MINI with an external 3V power supply
    3) Connect the USB2ANY I2C lines and ground to the DRV2624EVM_MINI
    4) Enable 'Force USB Communication' mode
    5) Send commands to DRV2624EVM_MINI

    Hope that helps,

    Labi.
