DRV10983: consistency issues for DRV10983

Part Number: DRV10983

Dear ,

my customer use DRV10983 to design a fan BLDC driver, motor parameter is 24v/30w。

now the fan motor can run normally, but the input power is different, customer suspect it is the consistency issues。

the specific test is as below:

when customer use the same motor and set the same rotate speed on the same test board ,supply  24v input voltage, test 6pcs DRV10983,four  of them the input current is1.2A,the others is 0.8A; take a new drv10983 to replace of the 0.8A chip, the new drv10983's input current is also 1.2A.

So customer suspect the chip's consistency is bad.

Can you give me a reasonable explain for customer? or how should i resove the issues.

the schematic as below.

Many thanks.

Best regards

Cickey Xu

  • Cickey,

It looks like the user is configuring a fixed voltage as the input command (SPEED).

    Can you provide the following?

    • DRV10983 register settings. (you can save the configuration file and send that)
    • FG output for the 2 cases (0.8A and 1.2A)
    • Phase U current waveform for the 2 cases (0.8A and 1.2A)

    Thanks,

    Brian
