DRV8834: Stepping format

Part Number: DRV8834

Hi team,

In the datasheet table 3: stepping format you can see 1/4 step M1, M0 is 0, Z.

For M0 high Z we can let the pin floating or let MCU GPIO pin which connected to M0 is input.

But for some application consideration, cannot let M0 floating.

Set M1=0 and MCU GPIO pin which connected to M0 is input but cannot for 1/4 step.

Is there any we missed? Or what's the internal impedance for M0?

Thank you!

  • Hello Zoe,

If you connect a GPIO pin to M0, you can achieve the high-impedance condition by configuring the GPIO as input. Otherwise, you can leave the M0 pin floating. There is an internal resistor network for this pin that holds the voltage in the middle when the pin is floating.
