Valve driver

Hi Sarvesh,

While we have 7 channel devices like the TPL7407LA and ULN2003A for driving inductive loads such as valves, we do not have boards designed for driving large amounts of valves.

We also have a DRV8860EVM that can control up to 16 channels, but it depends on the current requirements of the valves.

The valves would requires upto 1A of current. A 16 channel would do the job for now

Do you mean each valve requires up to 1A? The DRV8860 can only provide up to 560mA unless you parallel the outputs per figure 6 of the datasheet. Also please note the current output graph is is at 25C, so the values will be reduced as the temperature increases.

For 1A for each valve, the DRV8806 may be a better option. There is a DRV8806EVM available also.

Are the dimensions in the datasheet in cm?

Are you referring to the information about the PWP package at the end of the datasheet? If yes, the answer is yes per Note 1.

If not, please let us know which dimension you are referring to.
