DRV8872: nFault driven low problem

Part Number: DRV8872
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8801, , DRV8881

Hi Team,

Compared to DRV8801, there is no VBBNFR for the VBB nFault release, then is it right that VBB>6V then nFault release

Best regards

Gene

  • Hi Gene,

The DRV8872 has an undervoltage protection similar to the DRV8801.

An undervoltage fault occurs as VM drops below 6.4V maximum. The device is then disabled until VM rises to 6.5V max. Once VM rises above 6.5V, the DRV8881 is re-enabled. Please see section 7.3.12 of the datasheet for details.
