DRV8840: PWM input to output timing

Hello,

Our customer check the datasheet of the DRV8840.

There is no mentioned about dead time.

Could you tell me how much the dead time?

Does it include the delay time of PWM input to output?

Hi Aoyama-san,

The dead time is controlled by the internal circuit, using a break before make circuit.

Dead time is typically 400ns.

The dead time is included in the PWM input to output delay.

Hi Rick-san,

Thank you for your reply.
The customer used the DRV8844.
Now, the customer are looking for the motor driver which has one full-bridge circuit.
I recommended the customer the DRV8840.
Do you have any recommendation?

Hi Aoyama-san,

The DRV8870, DRV8871, and DRV8872 are possible alternatives. These devices have the charge pump integrated, reducing the size.
